Course Details:

The Emergency Management course covers the fundamentals of understanding the nature of an emergency, step-by-step preparation, communication during a crisis and will provide guidance to testing emergency preparedness. It provides an overview of basic emergency management. Students will be provided with basic training in the emergency response procedures adopted by various agencies in response to major incidents including natural disasters, fire, pandemics, hostage situations, bomb threats and active attacker situations, following the Emergency Management Guidelines. Students will explore the conditions which justify the deployment of the Incident Management System (IMS) and the roles and responsibilities of emergency service providers involved in the IMS.
