Certified Protection Officer – Canada™

The security profession operates in a constantly changing environment and must provide a wide range of potential responses to evolving and increasingly complex threats. Globalization and technology increase the scope of these threats and accelerate the rate at which they change. Consequently, providing security has become more complicated and the knowledge required by a competent security operative, at any level, has increased.

The Certified Protection Officer – Canada™ (CPO-CA™) program is designed for security practitioners, and law enforcement and justice students who wish to learn more about security/asset protection. It’s for the career-oriented individual – the difference between a security guard and a Professional Security Practitioner. This course will improve any protection officer’s skills, knowledge, and abilities. The highly interactive course includes 12 units covering 45 chapters. Each chapter provides interactive activities, knowledge checks, and concludes with an end-of-chapter test.

Experience and Prerequisites

The learner will benefit from having six (6) months full-time security experience (or equivalent) or one year part time security experience (or equivalent). Students enrolled in a recognized classroom training program may also benefit from this program.

PPI offers the CPO-CA™ course, as a blended online self-paced and online instructor led (live) program to enhance the learning experience. The self-paced course offers access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and instructor led sections of the course are scheduled weekly. The CPO-CA™ program provides comprehensive, up-to-date information that improves the security practitioners’ skills and enhances their efficiency. Our Learning Management System (LMS) tracks student achievement and maintains data necessary to provide seamless continuation of learning.
The course will fully prepare candidates for the CPO-CA™ final exam that is included in the price of the course. All course material prior to the final exam remain available for students to review at any time prior to the final exam.
